I probably should be this honest about my thought process, but fuck it. I had time for one more post before I grabbed some lunch and I looking at my previous posts I figured a new song with some more widespread name recognition was in order. There was this new Azelia Banks joint out, which was decent but I didn't have a whole lot to say about, and there was this new Future and Drake single. I was torn, so I figured I'd turn to RefinedHype Nation:




Well that settles it then, DJ Drama's "We I This Bitch V. 1.5" featuring Drake and Future it is then. First off my guess is that Drama hit up Drizzy to be on the original "We In This Bitch" but he didn't get his verses in on time. Still, what, you're going to just throw away a Drake verse? So Drama figured fuck it, I'll just throw Drake on a "version 1.5" and get myself an extra round of promo.

Unfortunately, that also meant that he had to carry over Future's original hook, which as I commented on the original post, I'm not a particularly big fan of:



Seriously though, this hook is terrible; is he saying that the girls in his section are "barely speaking English"? Ok then. And to make matters worse, Future gets a rapped verse which...hold on...yep, apparently he was talking about girls barely speaking English. He definitely just said "Girl don't speak no Englo." What is it with this man and non-English speaking women? And for the record, referring to the English language as "Englo" is not acceptable. It's just not.

Oh yeah, and Drake delivers a verse that's pretty much what you'd expect. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if he had a folder full of verses on his Desktop titled, "Decent verses for DJ posse cuts that everyone will forget about in two weeks."

For the record, here's the "beef" that's being referred to. Some folks are saying that DJ Drama squashed the beef, like the man's next in line for a Nobel Peace Prize. The much more likely explanation is that Drake and Future had no idea they'd be on the song together until after the fact. Drama gave the beat to Future and said "give me a hook and a verse". Then he gave Drake the beat and said, "give me a verse". Then he pieced that shit together after the fact - it's not like they were all in the studio together.
