Freddie Gibbs Knows It’s “Serve or Get Served” (Listen & Download)

Having already gotten filthy in that "Oil Money", and made a public announcement to vaginas, the pride of Gary, Indiana Freddie Gibbs is back on his corner with the release of "Serve or Get Served", a slowly knocking track featuring an unusually un-soul-sampled beat from Statik Selektah and a smoothly paced flow from Gangster Gibbs. For a man who smokes a lot of weed, Gibbs has some crazy breath control. The man sounds like he could flow for hours. I wish it was a little bit longer, but other than that, I've got no complaints.

On a side note, someone should do a documentary on dude's who've done background vocals on rap albums - like the dude who plays the crackhead here. Affion Crockett did something similar, but I'd really like to see it flushed out. Come on, you know you'd watch that flick.

"Serve or Be Served" is off Gibbs incredibly anticipated EP, "Str8 Killa", due out via Decon on August 3.
