Dope or Not? Lupe Fiasco Goes All-Black-Everything (Literally) For “Food & Liquor 2” Cover

You know when someone tries so hard to be an individual that it comes across as heavily contrived and the least bit genuine? Well, I think Lupe Fiasco is bordering on that with the release of his "Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1" cover. As you can see from the picture above the album cover is nothing more than an all-black square. No art work, no title, nothing.

The album cover becomes even more frustrating given the amazing "Bitch Bad" visual (emphasis on the word visual) that he just dropped. Like a music video an album cover should tell a story and the only thing this is telling me is just how scared Lupe is of being labeled your typical rapper.

I'm sure there's a number of people out there who might think it's genius, but I'm heavily leaning towards the cover "art" being a cop out. Now I'm sure Lupe is about to log onto his Twitter account, if he hasn't already, and give an overly in-depth explanation of why he chose the all black cover but I won't be buying it this time.

Nathan Update: I can't believe it took me this long to think of the classic "This Is Spinal Tap" scene.

And you know we couldn't let this one slide without adding a poll so let us know what you think.
