If Your Favorite Rapper Was a Star on “The Office”

In this latest edition of “If Your Favorite Rapper Was A Star On [Insert Television Show Name Here]” (see "Lost") we take a look at NBC’s Emmy award winning show “The Office.” Who doesn’t love “The Office,” right? And who doesn’t love rappers? Okay, maybe not everybody, but we couldn’t resist the opportunity to pair our favorites on “The Office” with who we think their hip-hop counterparts would be.

Bun B as Michael Scott
INSERT KEYWORDS

It only seems right that the most pleasant rapper in Hip Hop would play the role of lovable Dunder Mifflin manager Michael Scott. Just expect “The Office” to be a tad more trill.

DMX as Dwight K. Schrute
INSERT KEYWORDS

Dwight is quite the unique character so it definitely took a little time to figure out which rapper was worthy enough of the role of Dunder Mifflin’s most outrageous employee. So what rapper is just as outrageous and unpredictable as Dwight? None other than DMX!

Questlove as Jim Halpert
fINSERT KEYWORDS

Jim is that dude on “The Office” who is the epitome of laidback so what better Hip Hop counterpart than Questlove of The Roots? Both Jim and Questlove are well liked (peep Questlove’s number of followers on Twitter) and have pretty mellow personalities.

Jean Grae as Pam Beesly
INSERT KEYWORDS

It’s definitely the sarcasm that makes rapper Jean Grae ideal when it comes to the character of Pam Beesly. While Grae may be a little more brash than Beesly she would still make for a nice substitution.

Eminem as Stanley Hudson
INSERT KEYWORDS

If placed in an office like setting I’m quite sure Detroit rapper Eminem would be bored out of his mind just like “The Office’s” Stanley Hudson. But I have to admit that their reluctance to be entertained is probably the only thing they have in common.

Nicki Minaj as Kelly Kapoor
INSERT KEYWORDS

For some reason Nicki Minaj always comes off as an ideal pick for this column. It’s probably the multiple personalities she’s become so well known for in her songs. But as far as Kapoor is concerned we had to find one of the most girly, bubbly rappers out and Nicki Minaj just happens to be the closest thing to that.

Before she started writing this piece I told Danielle there as no way she'd come up with a good Dwight - she proved me completely wrong. That DMX call is brilliant.
