What’s Your Favorite Eminem Song of All-Time?Posted by Nathan S. on 06/19/13 | Filed under Top Stories, Opinion, Debates, Eminem, RH Nation Answers
First, an important note. See how I said "favorite" song? Not "best" or "most influential" or any of that shit. I mean the track that makes you say "Oh shit!" and listen on repeat for an hour straight. The track that you keep going back to again and again and again.
Also, we're going with song here, not verse. My favorite Em verse of all-time is probably off Dr. Dre's "Forgot About Dre", that shit is absurdly dope, but we're talking Slim Shady headlining tracks only here.
Got the ground rules? Good. Now as for me, I had to put some serious thought into it, and I think I finally have an answer:
Honestly, I feel a little weird about picking "98 Bonnie & Clyde", it makes me feel like I need to go see a therapist. But I literally remember the first time I heard this shit, and without exaggeration, it changed what I thought hip-hop was capable of: holy shit...what did I...just hear? The lyricism paired with the narration paired with the humor paired with the violence; it's only off his first major studio album, but I could only pick one song to argue that Em's one of the greatest rappers of all-time with, this would be the one.
I reserve the right to change my mind once y'all start throwing out your picks in the comments below, but for now, yeah, I'm rolling with "98 Bonnie & Clyde". And on that note, it's time to get busy RefinedHype Nation. So let's have at it, what's your favorite Eminem song of all-time?
UPDATE: Sweet baby jesus, I just realized I posted a similar question about a year ago. All this "Yeezus' listening has clearly melted my brain. Still...I don't think Eminem songs ever get old - I'm willing to go for round two...
