Schadenfreude is a psychological terms used to describe someone who takes pleasure in the failure of others (aka haters), and while I certainly didn't derive any enjoyment from some of the epic f**k ups below, they were too egregious not to be called out. In the latest of an ongoing series that will include the best...or worst...fails of the week from the world of hip-hop, sports, pop culture and beyond, I examine Rihanna's new linguistically challenged tattoo, the return of Brian Pumper, and one woman's quest to eat some chicken McNuggets at the wrong hour.
Good Thing It's Not Permanent
This week Rihanna was spotted with a new tattoo on her neck that read, "Rebelle Fleur", or "Rebellious Flower" in French. How nice. Wait...what's that? "Rebelle Fleur" is complete gibberish in French? Oh yeah, right. Unlike English, in French adjectives come after the noun, so her tattoo technically reads "Flower Rebellious". Here's an idea, if you don't speak the language, don't get it permanently tattooed on your neck. Agreed?
The Return of the Pumper
All week I was looking forward to continuing my previous coverage of Montana Fishburne and her decision to turn from respected daughter of actor Laurence Fishburne's to porn star when she popped up in a terrible rap video, but then the creator of the aforementioned terrible rap video, Brian Pumper, dropped yet another, somehow even more terrible rap video and, well, here we are. This dude is like if 50 Tyson and 50 Cent had a child, and that child suffered a serious head injury, and then grew up to be a porn star loving rapper. "One or two words and I'm in your wife's spaghetti." Ok, that just sounds disgusting.
In Which I Mock Waka Flocka's Mom
In an interview with Vibe last week, #shawtbusshawty All-Star Waka Flocka revealed that he and Gucci Mane were no longer speaking, largely because Gucci dropped his former manager, who also happens to be Waka's mother, because she was allegedly engaging in some shady accounting. (Wrap your head around that one.) That I don't care about. What I find hilarious, however, is what happened after, namely Waka's mom, Debra Antney, flipped out on Vibe, claiming they made up the quotes from the interview. "This is what I have to say to VIBE magazine. I am really kind of pissed off at you, for twisting the words up of Waka," said Antney. Vibe's response? They published the audio of the interview, revealing that, surprise, they quoted Waka verbatim. Was Waka's mom not aware of this crazy new technology that records people's voices? And with that, I can't believe I just actually spent time thinking about Waka's mom, and now you're stupider for having read this too. You're welcome.
She Really, Really Wanted Some F**king McNuggets
At 6:30 a.m. on New Year's Day, Melodi Dushane drove up to a Toledo-area McDonald's and attempted to order McNuggets. When informed that the restaurant was not yet serving said McNuggets, Dushane proceeded to...lose...her...motherf**king....mind. What are they coating McNuggets with out in Ohio? PCP? It's the only possible explanation. (Note: It really starts getting good at 1:15.) By the way, the best part of this video? The dude who drives up after and still gets his breakfast.
