Schadenfreude is a psychological terms used to describe someone who takes pleasure in the failure of others (aka haters), and while I certainly didn't derive any enjoyment from some of the epic f**k ups below, they were too egregious not to be called out. In the latest of an ongoing series that will include the best...or worst...fails of the week from the world of hip-hop, sports, pop culture and beyond, I examine rappers who love panties way too much, Capitol Records' failed 50 Cent signing, the greatest car chase ever and much more...
On a Very Special Episode of "The Lebrachelor"
I already spent an entire column on Lebron's "decision", so I won't get back into the Bron Bron circle jerk that was the Lebron free agent chase. Instead, as a final farewell to the only thing Cleveland had going for it besides delicious sausages and a corresponding obesity epidemic, let's revisit the classic "Hastily Made Cleveland Tourism Video." The follow-up video's "Our economy is based on Lebron James" never sounded so sad.
Capitol (Doesn't) Sign 50 Cent
This week the hip-hop world was turned on its head when Capitol Records' Craig Davis announced that 50 Cent had signed with Capitol. Damn! 50's leaving Interscope, where he's spent his entire year and experienced enormous success?!? What a huge coup for the struggling Capitol! There was only one problem, it was completely false. 50 responded to the announcement by saying, ""He's a idiot, and there's no deal done. Out of nowhere he comes out, and you can tell he's drunk or some shit." Oops. So either Davis was completely drunk, or he just blew the deal by announcing it prematurely. If this dude still has a job on Monday Capitol's even more desperate than I thought.
When Car Chases Go Horribly Right
This is a fail on the part of the po-po, and a huge, huge win for whoever was driving this car. Goddamn, this is like some real life Grand Theft Auto. In one of the greatest displays of driving prowess I've ever seen, this dude absolutely refuses to go down. Looks like someone's been listening to a lot of Ghostface Killah - "Run!"
Dignity on the Ground
Hip-hop's current cut and paste attitude's become somewhat of a joke, so I'm always a little surprised when I find something that fufills every possible rao stereotype. Quick, if you had to make the most formulaic rap video possible, what would you do? Well, you'd start with a bouncing, catchy beat, add in an ignorant hook and some rhymes and top it off with some low-class video chicks. Congratulations Phar-City's "Panties on the Ground", you're a living, breathing stereotype. And WTF at that dude rubbin panties on his face like he's taking a shower in them? I'm scared for the future of humanity.

craig davis is on pills.. the chase is good not.. kinda weird how the chase is on some grand theft ish and then the panties video uses the grand theft font.. that panties song is straight trash and not even good enough to laugh at..
