Fabolous’ “The Soul Tape” Not a Tape, Pretty Soulful Though (Mixtape Listen & Download)

For real hip-hop heads there may be no rapper alive more frustrating than Fabolous. By any measure he's capable of being one of the best lyricist alive - he's certainly the best punchline rapper alive - and in a parallel universe he could have made classic album but instead he's constantly detoured into radio-friendly land. Can't fault the man for making that money, but I also can't hep but feel like we've only ever got 75% of what the man's truly capable of. I mean, just listen to his new project "The Soul Tape". If he put this kind of work into an album we could be looking at a classic.

Anyway, Loso says "The Soul Tape" was inspired by Jay's "Blueprint", but only in the loosest sense possible (it's rap over soul beats). Whatever, I promise it's worth the listen. Guest spots from Lil Wayne, Ryan Leslie, Vado, Lloyd Bank and more.

On a closing note, I have no idea what it means, but "Turkey burgers and hot chocolate, really ho?" from "Really Tho" is my new favorite rap line of all-time. At least for the next hour or so.
