Eminem's sobriety anthem "Not Afraid" may be one of the most unlikely number one hits in music history, but there's no denying the track's strength, and now Em's followed up his lead single's success with some visual accompaniment that, sadly, features absolutely no Tom Green ass-smothering.
The Refined Take:
1) Um, I'm glad Eminem's not afraid to be sober, but there are times when fear is healthy. Like when you're standing on a ledge hundreds of feet in the air for instance.
2) For some reason this video made me finally really hear the "Got the urge to pull his dick out the dirt and fuck the whole universe" line. Um, what was his dick doing in the dirt? That sounds like a really bad idea. Looks like we have a new nominee for "Rap Lines That Make No F**king Sense".
3) I have to say, I didn't see the surreal ending coming. It's like Spike Jonze jumped in and directed the last minute.
4) Hmmmm...Emimen as a superhero you say (flying plus super brick punching strength)? Do I smell a movie deal in the works? What's his other superpower, arguing with Mariah Carey?
5) Now the official wait for the "Won't Back Down" video begins. "Recovery" drops on June 22. Mark your calendars. Pink track. http://www.refinedhype.com/hyped/entry/eminem-wont-back-down/
