Maybe it's this rainy weather (for the record, it rains like three times a year in L.A.) or maybe I just needed some testicular fortitude after yesterday's cryfest (Drake's "
I Get Lonely Too"), but I'm in a bad mood this morning - so the second
El Da Sensei's new single "
Everyday in the Street" hit my headphones I was sold. Now this is some grown man rap.
In addition the the aforementioned Sensei, "Everyday" also features a hilariously grimy verse from
Sean Price (I could
watch that man grocery shop) and Brooklyn brawler and '
Bloodsport' enthusiast
Bekay, plus some crazy production from
The Returners (stick around until the end of the track to hear the original sample). In other words, if you need a little sunshine in your life, move on, but if you're in a mean mood, damn do I have a track for you.
For more street level hip-hop be sure to chop El's upcoming collabo album with The Returners, "GT2: Nu World", when it drops this Tuesday, October 12 via
Coalmine Records.
