You know Hip-Hop is in a bit of a weird place when all the rave is some teen returning home from boarding school overseas after being a little too naughty over here in the states. That "teen" I'm referring to is the much hyped Odd Future member
Earl Sweatshirt. From day one I've been confused about all the hype surrounding this kid and after hearing his newest release "Home" I'm more confused than ever. So if someone can fill me in that'd be greatly appreciated.
After joining the social networking site Twitter,
Earl promised to drop a new track if he hit 50,000 followers. That happened in a matter of hours and as a result we have the pretty unimpressive "Home."
"Home" barely surpasses the minute and a half mark but it's enough for me to believe that all the hype surrounding Earl was a bit uncalled for. And let's be real here it's only a matter of time before rapping like the Satanic spawn of
Aesop Rock gets old. (That one's for you too Tyler.)
