Drake & Alicia Keys See “Fireworks” (Listen & Download)

Drake Thank Me Later Album Cover
I've got a fever and the only prescription is more Drake leaks! (Word up to Christopher Walken.) At this point Drake coverage has become a sort of out of body experience for me. I know talk about his debut album "Thank Me Later" is overhyped, I don't want to get caught up in it, but I'll be damned if every time a new track drops I'm pressing play as quickly as I can. Consider that a lengthy way of saying that two huge Drake songs leaked last night ("Light Up" ft. Jay-Z being the other, and I'm posting both. Drake's the biggest story in hip-hop. Period.

First up we've got the much ballyhooed "Fireworks". (Props to me for using the word "ballyhooed" in context.) Produced by constant beat partner Noah “40? Shebib, who thankfully doesn't overdo the fireworks sound effects, "Fireworks" is a deeply personal cut that has Drake touching on everything from his parents' divorce to the pressure of fame. It's not the kind of performance that will blow away hip-hop heads, but although the emo-tip gets to be a little much at time, I have to give it up to Drizzy for opening up. Isn't this what we ask of our rappers - to truly keep it real? Of course if this is a hit we'll have to give credit to Alicia Keys, who once again absolutely kills the hook. Jay better have bought her a small island for making "New York State of Mind" the biggest hit of his career, and it looks like Drake could end up similarly indebted.

See fireworks right now and listen to the track below.
