I'm not going to get all Nas-y and say that the true art of DJing is dead. The truth is that there are probably more dope DJs and producers out there than ever before, it's just also harder for them to grab some spotlight with a new rapper being born every minute.

So I'm more than happy to take a moment to swing some of that spotlight in the direction of DJ Charlie White's new "The Last Crate" instrumental album. The same dude who gave us the dope ATCQ vs. Wu-Tang project, this time around Charlie gets original, putting together the type of continuous instrumental set I used to cop from actual stores back when mixtapes were actually tapes. *Moment of silence.*
