Cypress Hill Sparks a Block Party on “Armada Latina” Video (Watch)

Posted by Nathan S. on 04/08/10 | Filed under Videos, Cypress Hill

As I alluded to in yesterday's big motherlovin Block of Cypress Hill the L. A. crew was busy at work on some visuals to go along with their ass-shaking anthem "Armada Latina" featuring Pitbull and Marc Anthony, and sure enough today they delivered. Get the block party started.

The Refined Take:

1) I don't know about where you live, but out here in L.A. this song is blowing up. Radio's giving it sporadic airplay, but more importantly if you drive around you'll hear it playing from stereos everywhere from the stoop to the black party. This is the official summer jam, at least in my house.

2) I'm not a big car guy, but I'd much rather have a lowrider like that than a new Bentley. A customed-out powder blue '64 Chevy Malibu? Yes please.

3) Wow, Pitbull taking the GILF route. Did not see that coming.

4) Sweet baby jesus the beautiful women to guys ratio is out of control here. Remind me to make sure I'm at Cypress Hill's next video shoot. Then again, it still might not be as good as the time I was at the Playboy Mansion with Cypress Hill (shameless bragging).

5) If you want to get your next party started you can download the track here. And be sure to stay tuned for RefinedHype's album giveaway of Cypress Hill's upcoming album "Rise Up" when it drops on...wait for it...4/20.

It's one of those rare songs that, from the first listen, I could tell I was going to become OBSESSED with. A well-crafted summer jam that perfectly layers hip-hop, salsa and meringue to create one potent package. My ears thank you, Jim Jonsin. *wipes the slate clean* You are absolutely free to go and keep recycling "Whatever You like" as long as you desire, you won't hear this boy complain a shit!

Glad you also like it, @Nathan. I desperately want this to be a hit! I can safely say that there's nothing like this on radio stations right now. But it's perfect for block parties, a summer evening drive through the city... top down, singing along, you know, all those good times. I don't know what kind of god would keep this song from being a ginormous global hit.

Glad to hear we're on the same page Top Hat. The track's getting solid radio play out here in L.A., but we're a pretty Latino friendly market to say the least. Hopefully this one will make it our your way soon.
