Curren$y Drops “Breakfast (In & Out)” Produced by Mos Def (Listen & Download)

Curren$y
When news broke last week that underground-isf favorites Curren$y, Jay Electronica and Mos Def would be forming a group called Center Edge Territory the interwebs predictably began frothing at the mouth in anticipation. It's unclear is Curren$y's latest track, the jazzy "Breakfast (In & Out)" is officialy a Center Edge joint, but it was produced by Mos Def. In other words, let the hype begin.

I have to say, while I'm as excited as anyone about the prospect of Curren$y x Mos x Jay, if "Breakfast (In & Out) is any indication of the group's upcoming material I'm going to be a little disappointed. While Curren$y holds his own on the mic (I'm a fan of any Karate Kid reference), I can't help but feel like Mos' beat is underwhelming at best. I can't be the only one.

Of course if you can't wait for breakfast, check out the track below right now.

I think i'm feelin this beat a little more then you are N. I am always for beats that are chill with not a lot of different instruments and sounds. Just give me a kick a snare and a smooth smaple and as long as they play together then im good. I can def see if someone else doesn't feel it though. Currency flows pretty nice on it too

@NYsportsGuy I don't need every beat to be Timbaland, but to be perfectly frank, there's a difference between minimalist and lazy, and it feels like Mos is more of the latter on this one.
