I know this may be a bit of a bold statement, but I feel like it's safe to stay that almost everybody loves
Curren$y Spitta. But do correct me if I'm wrong. Earlier this morning Curren$y's DJ Drama hosted
"Verde Terrace" mixtape was released and if you're a fan of Curren$y chances are you'll be satisfied with this latest project.
"Verde Terrace" kicks off with "Job" a track that sticks to Curren$y's usual formula of placid lyricism and smooth, laid-back production. I probably could have done without DJ Drama's 30-seconds of rambling though. Throughout the project Curren$y maneuvers between his signature mellow stoner tracks and more high-energy tunes like "The Jet Business," "Car Talk," and "Sky Miles."
Curren$y goes on to borrow the production from some classic Hip-Hop tracks on "Verde Terrace" including Outkast's "Elevators" on "Smoke Sumn" and Biggie's "10 Crack Commandments" on "Crack BC." Even though this is Curren$y's project, one of the highlights of "Verde Terrace" for me personally was Young Roddy's verse on "Crack BC." I had no idea who this kid was but he goes in so hard on "Crack BC" that I had to do my research.
