Cookin’ Soul Remixes Rick Ross’ “Blowin Money Fast (B.M.F.)” (Video)

When production team Cookin Soul dropped their "Thank Me Later" remix mixtape I was intrigued by their style, but after they dropped the incredibly dope "Summer in Brooklyn", a remix to Jay-Z's "Hello Brooklyn" that's unarguably better than the original, I committed to listening to anything they felt like cookin up, including their flip of MC Man Boobs Rick Ross' banger "Blowin Money Fast (B.M.F.)".

On the remix Cookin Soul strips out the original, booming Lex Luger beat and overlay it instead with something more majestic, complete with an angelic choir in the background and more softly stuttering drums. Honestly, this time around I'm not so sure this is an improvement over the original. A track like this might not be meant to be mellowed out. What do y'all think?

There's no download of the track available now, but there inevitably will be soon. I'll update when it drops.

Not that any of us need a reminder of what Ricky's original "B.M.F." sounds like, but for compare and contrast purposes the original's below. For some reason Rick pulled the official video, so here's an obviously unofficial one. Does it really matter?

This is a pretty good remix, but I think the original is better. A track like B.M.F. is meant to have a booming beat like on the original.

@jaydeemorgan I have to agree with you. As superior as Cookin Soul's Hello Brooklyn remix was, it just doesn't work as well here because a track like BMF demands a more aggressive beat.
