Consequence is the Shane Battier of the rap game. He's never flashy, he may never make an All-Star team, but if you take a moment to look over his stats/tracks you go "damn, this dude's actually really, really good." I'll be honest, I'm not sure that analogy is going to hold up to intense scrutiny (have at it), but the point is that Cons dropped off two new tracks as a final push before his "Cons TV" mixtape drops later todaynow. The first selection is "Don't Stand So Close To Me", a Statik Selektah produced cut with Styles P (who's unquestionably dope on this), and the second is "Let U Live", a dark banger featuring Pharoahe Monch (whose "Simon Says" is a tragically underrated classic). Enjoy, and keep it locked for "Cons TV".
And just in case you didn't pick up the reference on your own, "Don't Stand" obviously samples The Police's classic track "Don't Stand So Close", possibly the greatest "This high school chick is super hot but I don't want to get picked up on statutory rape charges" song ever made (apologies to R. Kelly).
