Consequence Loves to be the “Bearer of Bad News” (Listen & Download)

I feel a little bad for Consequence, I really do. The dude's been putting out (mostly) dope music for well over a decade, but while he used to split buckets at the KFC with Kanye, he hasn't really been allowed to board the G.O.O.D. Music train. It's the story of his career really. The music's there, but he's just not particularly marketable. Plus people constantly confuse him with Rhymefest, so that doesn't help.

But since I don't have anything to sell, I'm a Cons fan, which is why I've been bumping his new, finally mastered joint, "Bearer of Bad News". J Dilla production is reason enough to post a track (peep those trademark horns), but thankfully the rap vet also comes through on the mic: "There's an inside man for every jux, and I've been taking money since college like Reggie Bush / If you thought I wouldn't get a major look / then you poppin the same pill that Fantasia took." There's still nothing better than some nice punchlines.
