Would a rapper by any other name rhyme as dope? In the case of Concise Kilgore, his off-center moniker is just as fresh as his rhyme style. Featuring the similarly well named Evidence, Guilty Simpson and DJ Revolution, his new cut "Teknoir" is a lyrical serial killer.
The best thing about these multi-MC tracks is we get to play the always popular "who had the best verse?" game. I'd have to give it to Concise (fittingly considering it's his track) but it was damn close. Here's everyone's best line:
Concise Kilggore: "Paranoia paces/ in an Impala spaceship / kings get dethroned in hierarchy of the aces / degenerate / this rap game got me gamblin."
Guilty Simpson: "Like a big game hunter / gold chain runner / thunder / describes the sound of my hunger / pangs / and when I'm starvin / your future darkens."
Evidence: "The high never hits the same/ my language is pain / clear the lane / street sweep the block / when is enough? / when is it up? / when I get a good rest in the box."
As a quick sample, here's some video of the "Teknoir" recording session, featuring DJ Revolution cutting it up on the turntables. Download link is below.
