Just in case you missed it, and you probably did because no one watched Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the Clipse hooked up with house band The Roots for a once in a lifetime remix to their breakthrough hit "Grindin", most prominently featuring a verse from Blackthought, who proves he can go hard on dope boy street tracks too. There's no way you're not loving this.
Sorry for the ad, but every bootleg version of this will get pulled by NBC asap, so I wanted to go with the official:
On a related note, here's my idea for a new show. Each week a new artist rolls through and does a cover of one of their songs with The Roots. The first two parts of the show is like behind the scenes footage of them putting together the track and rehearsing, and the final one is the performance. Then, at the end of every season, they could drop an album of all the best songs. Come on, tell me you wouldn't watch that. All I need now is a good title, any suggestions? "Root Down" is the best I have so far, though I don't think it's a winner.
Totally like that idea of a new show.
Maybe an hour-long show... interviews with the artists and stuff in the 1st 40 minutes... then they all hit the live remix.
