Childish Gambino & Prodigy Catch a “Body”...or Something (Listen & Download)Posted by Nathan S. on 07/09/12 | Filed under Refined Picks, Downloads, Childish Gambino, Prodigy |

If Childish Gambino was looking to prove anything with his "Royalty" mixtape, it's that no one can get a more diverse list of guest features - and he succeeded. I don't know if there's anyone else who could get both Alley Boy and Tina Fey, both Beck and Ghostface Killah, on the same project.
So I'm not sure what "Body", Gambino's collaboration with Mobb Deep founder/beloved semi-insane rapper Prodigy, didn't make the final cut of the project. It definitely knocks, and it's hard to think of a feature that drives home the point that Gambino lives in both the hipster rap and street rap worlds than a track with P.
We have to admit that there's a solid chance Prodigy has no idea who Donal Glover is; he just heard the beat, saw the name "Gambino" and assumed he was a street rapper he'd never heard of. After all, P can't even name all of his own albums, would you really be shocked if he was doing verses for rappers he wouldn't recognize on the street? Me neither.
However it happened, "Body" is now a small, pretty interesting part of hip-hop history. Enjoy:
