How Famous Can Childish Gambino Get? Listen & Download “Black Faces” ft. Nipsey HusslePosted by Nathan S. on 06/02/12 | Filed under Downloads, Childish Gambino, Nipsey Hussle |

Weekend Edition: The week's top stories, running from Saturday to Monday morning.
Here's my theory. For years Childish Gambino was essentially making music for himself, hoping this whole hip-hop thing would take off but never being sure. And then he blew up and now his vision has shifted. He's no longer asking himself "how I can get noticed", he's asking himself "how big can I really take this thing?"
For the record, that's a good thing. We need more dudes like Gambino in the game, and I think it also explains why the more recent material we've heard from Chidlish is more serious than ever, and with more guest features than ever. Case in point, his new "Black Faces" joint, a track featuring "hasn't this dude been the next big thing for a decade now?" Nipsey Hussle and a beat that's got some Drake sized ambitions.
"Black Faces" raises some good questions, just how big can Gambino get? Can he satisfy the nerd crowd, the harder hip-hop crowd and the radio/pop side? It's a hell of a tall order, but part of me thinks he could actually pull it off after listening to shit like this. Thoughts from RefinedHype Nation?
UPDATE: Not really sure what to do with the "Only rapper making 100K on your playlist". It's not so much that it makes No Fucking Sense, it's that it's just not true. At all. Oh, and Nipsey really needs his shit turned up.
