Walt Whitman once said, "Do I contradict myself? Very well then, I contradict myself. I am large, I contain multitudes." So while I've been making a conscious effort to decrease the amount of "Bitches" in the hip-hop I'm listening to (Get it? Conscious effort?) sometimes I just can't help myself. The beat starts banging and before you know it I'm five tracks deep into a Juicy J listening session, or going "H.A.M." to Killer Mike, Thurz and Aleon Craft's "Bitches & Drugs".
The second release off the upcoming "Stankonia Sessions" album (cop the first here), "Bitches & Drugs" is unavoidably addictive. There's just no denying that SMKA beat and three verses from some of the game's finest. So I'll spend tonight listening to some Queen Latifah to try to cleanse my soul, but for now the volume's going way up. Repeat after me: "Bitches, and drugs / bitches, and drugs....."
(Word to me for being the first rap blogger to quote Walt Whitman. We're making history over here.)
