New York native Beyond Belief is not-so-quietly taking the hip-hop world by storm, and he's now got the visual evidence to prove it. Beyond's brand new video for "U Dont' Know Me" is a personal look at the rapper that many may not know now, but everyone will very soon.
The Refined Take:
1) For those of you who caught the "Welcome to Rockaway Beach" sign in the beginning and are wondering where Rockaway Beach is, check out Beyond Belief's "My City" interview here.
2) Seeing all those shots of the NY subway reminds me, if you're in NYC be sure to keep an eye out for transit cops. Those mothfu**ers will snatch you up for anything, trust me. New York's finest my ass. Sorry, had to get that off my chest
3) Seeing that picture of Beyond Belief's family was subtle but one of my favorite moments in recent video history. Artists almost never show us their "real" lives like that, but when they do it can be gripping. That one shot takes this video from good to great for me.
4) I'm a Kwame fan, so please know that I say this with all due respect, but what the f**k is he wearing on his head? Are those mining googles? They look like those eyepieces jewelers wear to appraise diamonds, or something Doc Brown would have rocked in Back to the Future? Anyone know what those are? Can I get confirmation on this please.
5) If you're digging this track, check out Beyond Belief's "What About BOB?" album on iTunes.
