Beyonce dressed up like a naughty 50's housewife. Yep, that's really all I have to say to get you to watch B's new "Why Don't You Love Me" video. I could go on about how this is a bonus cut off her "I Am...Sasha Fierce" album, and that it was penned by Solange, but would you really care? That's what I thought.
The Refined Take:
1) I know it's hard to get made about Beyonce strutting around in stilettos for three minutes, but after "Video Phone" and "Telephone" I'm beginning to get a little worried she's chasing the Lady Gaga, camp thing too hard. I'm just saying, I'd love to see her drop something in the ballpark of "Crazy in Love". Pushing artistic boundaries is fine and good, but do it too often and you risk losing your core audience.
2) And yes, the idea that Beyonce cleans his house wearing lingerie, even if it's a complete fantasy, is why folks like to hate on Jay-Z so much. Jealousy - and I can't front, I'm not immune to such feelings. Damn you Shawn Carter. Damn you.
3) Did Beyonce just grab her breasts and jiggle them during the "I gave you everything you want" line? Sorry, that was a rhetorical question. She absolutely did.
4) Shouts to Betty Page, the original pin-up girl. And if you don't know why, now you know.
5) I think we can all agree this video shoot is the first time Beyonce's touched a mop in over a decade.
