Beatnick and K-Salaam Remix the Classics on “Never Say Goodbye”Posted by Nathan S. on 09/15/09 | Filed under Mixtapes, Producers, K-Salaam & Beatnick |

If you could go back in time and watch any track in music history being made, what would it be? Would you sit in a room with the SugarHill Gang while they sketched out the lyrics to Rapper's Delight? Would you stand in the booth with James Brown while he recorded Sex Machine? Would you be a fly in the wall while Sir Mix-a-Lot tried to figure out what rhymes with "my anaconda don't want none..."?
"We were just thinking about what artists we wanted to work with, and we thought it would be crazy to go back in time and work with young Michael, Marvin Gaye, or Stevie Wonder," said Beatnick.
While many would consider touching such sacred material dangerous and possibly sacrilegious - witness Fergie's complete mangling of MJ's Beat It on the Thriller 25th Anniversary Edition - the duo is confident that they've done the work of their musical heroes justice.
"We know it's looked at as bold to take on these remixes, but we have gotten only positive responses. We hold our own on this album, you can't deny that. We're confident in what we are capable of as producers." said K-Salaam.
