Ashanti Makes Her Somewhat Triumphant Return On “The Woman You Love” (Listen & Download)

When I first heard that Ashanti had a new song out I didn't have the highest of hopes. It's not often that an artist returns after years and releases a pretty dope song, but I have to give Ashanti kudos for doing just that. The song, which is titled "The Woman You Love," also features Busta Rhymes. Although I think the song would be pretty dope with just Ashanti I do feel like that added verse from a rapper helps a lot. The only thing is I'm not sure if Busta Rhymes was the wisest choice of rappers for the song.

Yea, Busta Rhymes' verse was cool and all but I feel like the song could have benefited a lot more from someone like J. Cole or even Drake. I'm sure those artists aren't all that accessible, but it would have been a very good look for Ashanti. Regardless I still think Ashanti kills "The Woman You Love" even if she is doing a lot of yell-singing.
