Like a lot of people, I was wary about A$AP Rocky at first. No one who gets that big, that fast can just be given a free pass into the game. (Hey, the name of the site is RefinedHype.) But then slowly but surely he's won me over. I still don't know if he's worth $3 million, but his mixtape was legit, he's been cranking out solid guest features, he's got a good live show and now his official debut single, "Goldie", is pretty dope.

I'd say the success of "Goldie" is actually primarily that Hit-Boy beat. It's minimalistic production in the grand scheme of thing (which Hit Boy is no stranger to), but that bass really knocks. And with Rocky laying down some nice rhymes there's some potential for "Goldie" to make some serious noise.

We'll see if the young Harlem/Houston repper can really move translate all that hype into album sales this summer when his major label debut is set to drop, but in the meantime, I'm digging this. Dost RefinedHype Nation disagree?
