Aesop Rock Is Back & Just As Mind Boggling As Ever With “Zero Dark Thirty” (Listen & Download)Posted by Danielle Harling on 04/10/12 | Filed under Downloads, Aesop Rock |

I'm pretty sure it's been at least 32 years since I last hard a solo single from intricate rhymesayer Aesop Rock. Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration but unless I've missed something it seems like Aesop Rock has been, well under a rock for the past few years especially when it comes to solo releases. Aesop Rock has been in the game for a minute now and with the release of "Zero Dark Thirty" it's nice to know that even in the year 2012 his lyrics are just as complex and head-scratching as ever. In fact, I'm still stuck on trying to figure out the significance of the title.
While Aesop's lyricism has always been pretty intriguing the production on a lot of his songs has been kind of hit or miss for me. Fortunately, "Zero Dark Thirty" sports quite the dope, boom-bappish production. The beat's somewhat low-key, but that's really what's needed when you've got a guy rapping about "minotaurs" and "plunging necklines."
"Zero Dark Thirty" will be featured on Aesop Rock's "Skelethon" when it's released on July 10th.
