How fitting. Just an hour after I opened up a conversation on Kendrick Lamar killing emcees on their own track, Kendrick shows up and absolutely crushes Ab-Soul's new joint, "ILLuminate". Although it feels a little strange to talk about Kendrick killing another TDE member. Maybe it's more like friendly fire.

Either way, the point is that Ab-Soul continues to roll out some must listen music. With Kendrick, Jay Rock and ScHoolboy Q all firmly established Soul is obviously the next up, and he might just cement his place in the game when his new album "controlsystem" drops this Friday, May11.

(You know, kind of like how Kendrick has cemented his place in the game as an emcee who fucking kills every guest verse.)
