3 Shots With Thurz: NBA Comparisons, L.A. Rap Trivia & More (Video Drinkerview) Posted by Nathan S. on 02/12/14 | Filed under 3 Shots With, Interviews, Thurz

It's time for another episode of I Drink With Rappers on Camera and Talk About Shit. Or to put it more succinctly, "3 Shots With..." For the latest episode I bring on L.A. renaissance man Thurz to drink tequila and play a round (pun intended) of rapper-NBA player comparisons, do some L.A. hip-hop trivia, pick some new desert island albums and much more.

As always, while most of the world will just watch the video, I have to give RefinedHype Nation the full breakdown. When I first had the idea to do this I didn't know if it'd be fucking awesome or a drunken mess, so the first people I called were not only dope artists, but people who I actually knew, people who'd be down to drink with me on a Saturday afternoon with or without the cameras.

Thurz is exactly that dude. In addition to putting out some of the most creative hip-hop of the last few years, he's a genuinely good human being and a rap dad who's willing to participate in my crazy ideas. Let's get it in....

Discussed:

* Ice-T's original group name, The Precious Few.
* A new round of "Rap Game" in which Thurz says he's the Rap Game Kyrie Irving, I compare my game to Rondo, Thurz responds my claiming I'm more of a John Stockton (he insists not because I'm white but come on, totally because I'm white) and more.
* Some L.A. rap trivia, most notably about the location of Biggie's death; and don't front, you probably didn't know either. Plus, why isn't there at least a plaque at the spot Biggie was shot? Let's get it together hip-hop.
* Thurz selects his desert island albums: Bob Marley's "Legend", Kings of Leon D'Angleo "Voodoo" and Outkast "Aquemini".

Much love and respect to Thurz for coming on. You can follow him @Thurzday, watch his new short film and keep an ear out for his upcoming album, "Blood on the Canvas".

A new "3 Shots" drops in two weeks, gotta give you time to sober up; can you catch a contact drunk? Anyway, enjoy...
