Drake, Nicki Minaj & More: 2010 BET Awards Red Carpet Hits And Misses

Posted by Danielle Harling on 06/28/10 | Filed under Celebrities, Rad Carpet

The verdict is out and it looks like for the most part people were actually impressed by the 2010 BET Awards. After several years of lackluster awards shows BET has finally managed to pull itself together. The fashion on the other hand still remains very hit or miss with some stars bringing it and others just leaving us scratching our heads. RefinedHype.com takes a look at some of the nights hits and misses as well as everything in between.

Cassie - Miss

All I want to know is what furry, little animal had to lose its life just so Cassie could rock that amazingly tacky “purse?”

Keri Hilson -Neutral

Animal print is always a good look and Keri Hilson works it well, but why am I getting flashbacks of Halle Berry in The Flintstones movie? Aside from her dress being somewhat reminiscent of The Flintstones, Keri is definitely working it.

Carmelo Anthony & LaLa Vasquez- Hit

It seems like Carmelo and LaLa can really do no wrong. No matter what they wear it seems like they always end up complementing each other so well. The green cardigan is a little much, but we’ll give Melo a pass this time.

Ciara - Miss

Where to start? How about the fringes? The fringes…why the fringes Ciara?! The dress may have been somewhat decent without them, but nooo now you look like an overly dressed high school majorette. And the shoes, “fake Manolo boots straight from Steve Madden” maybe?

Drake - Neutral

Yes, the leather jacket is fly. Possibly a little too much for Los Angeles weather, but fly nonetheless. But of course Drake had to go and ruin it with the shoes. Paint splatter edition Wallabee’s?

Nicki Minaj - HIT!

Joking of course! What in the hell is this chic thinking? As an added bonus now we get to watch as “Barbie’s” in New York City, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and elsewhere rock orange wigs with wedding dresses! Can’t wait!

Two quick thoughts.

Nicki Minaj's the Lady Gaga of hip-hop. Her goal's not to look good, it's to get people to talk about what she's wearing.

Not that I look at such things, but LaLa's breasts aren't really that enormous, right? That has to be some sort of optical illusion.

I thought the same thing about her boobs too. I think it's the way the dress is made.

Nah LaLa got some knockers on her for real. The dress just complements her even more. And sorry, but Cassie has the body of a 11 year old.
